Error coins are all the rage today in collecting and it's easy to see why! Just what is a 'Blank' Planchet?A coin 'planchet' is the circular piece of metal that is used to create the coin. These 'blank' pieces of metal are then inserted into the coin press and transformed into another stunning piece of American coinage. Somehow, someway, these secret error coins found their way outside of the Mint!
